Consumers for Health Choice, and everyone in the Health Food industry, needs your help.
The European Commission will bring forward in the very near future the long-awaited proposals for maximum dose levels for all vitamins and minerals in food supplements.
All the signs point to those figures being set at restrictive levels which could threaten the continued availability of many higher potency dietary supplements; the future of many specialist retailers and manufacturers is also at risk.
CHC are asking everybody who cares about freedom of choice to visit their web site and download a letter or postcard to send to their local MP.
What can you do about it?
Please write to your local MP!
We need to ensure that all MPs are made aware of the potential threat posed by the Food Supplements Directive and so we are asking you to help by writing to your local constituency MP setting out your concerns and encouraging them to raise the issue and take action on behalf of the British industry.
You can find your local MP by visiting www.theyworkforyou.com and entering your postcode, or by calling the House of Commons information line on 0207 219 4272. To help you, a draft letter is available for download here.
There is also a postcard that you can download from the Consumers for Health Choice website to send to your MP.
Your opinion and support really count and will help to influence the European Commission in order to retain freedom of choice for all supplement users.
